My background story as a web developer

I have been working in the tech sector for over 10 years. A large part of my work has been in project management and business development in startup environments, with a focus on online services.

Over the years, I have developed a passion for the startup way of life, where anything is possible with dedication and determination. I have been involved in two startup projects from scratch, and that has been a ton of fun and challenges.

One of the many hats I've worn while running a startup has been that of a Growth Hacker. I do enjoy this process of using data and creativity to boost growth of a service on the way to find product market fit. Figuring out how the network effect can be achieved or where in the service virality is possible to reach.

I have seen and experienced firsthand how hard it can be when a project never gets off the ground. It is part of startup life, and the only way is forward towards the next thing.

Around 2018-2019, I decided to venture into the field of programming. At first, my goal was just to understand the basic concepts and how to communicate around the creation process of digital products. But it didn't take long before I became hooked. I decided early on to focus on web development with JavaScript as my base. After a while, I started to grasp fundamental concepts such as algorithms and data structures. In the beginning, it felt overwhelming at times, but taking it slowly, one step and one concept at a time, I eventually started to understand the craft that programming is.

Today, I enjoy web development and building full-stack web applications. My go-to stack is TypeScript, and the MERN-stack, and I prefer to use Next.js as my React framework. I tend to work agile using scrum concepts even in projects where I work alone. This approach helps break down projects into smaller, more manageable pieces. I also prefer using tools like Figma to create mockups or full prototypes before I start programming. This is a good way of visualizing what technologies would be needed and also getting a sense of the user experience in the application.

It's been an incredible journey navigating the dynamic landscape of tech startups, honing my skills in project management, business development, growth hacking, and programming along the way. With over a decade of experience under my belt, I've seen firsthand the highs and lows of startup life, and I've come to appreciate the relentless pursuit of innovation and growth.

Venturing into the realm of programming was a natural progression for me, and what started as a quest to understand the fundamentals quickly evolved into a passion for web development. Today, I specialize in building full-stack web applications using the MERN stack, with Next.js as my preferred React framework. Whether it's crafting elegant frontends or architecting robust backends, I thrive on the creative process of turning ideas into reality.
